Spatial Policies in Tourism

Assοciate Professor of Tourism Management Department at the University of West Attica. In addition, she teaches tourism-related subjects at the Hellenic Open University, the Harokopio University, and the University of the Aegean. Her main research interests include spatial planning for tourism, destination planning, local cultural resource management, tourism policies, cultural heritage and urban tourism. PHD in Spatial Planning of Tourism (NTUA). She has studied Architecture and she has an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning (NTUA). From 2015 to 2020, she worked as Head of the Departments of Support of Regional Tourism Units and of Quality Standards in Tourism at the Greek Ministry of Tourism. From 2010 to 2012, she worked as consultant at the Ministry of Environment. From 2004 to 2008 she worked for the Region of Attica, monitoring tourism enterprises Aid. From 2000 to 2004 she worked as a consultant in the Ministry of the Aegean participating in the formation of the appropriate regulatory framework for the protection of the historical urban environment. She has also been involved with projects for the sustainable tourism development of the Aegean islands. She participated in research programs on tourism spatial planning, tourism policy implementations, local governance, cultural and urban tourism and cultural heritage as the basic researcher or as a member of a research team. She has an important writing activity (chapters in books, articles in magazines and papers in international conferences).
