Manolis Christofakis is Professor of Regional (Economic) Development and Policy at the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean, while from 2004 to 2015 he was a member of the Teaching and Research Staff of the Department of Economic and Regional Development of Panteion University. He also has many years of teaching experience at postgraduate level in various university departments.
He has published work in peer-reviewed international scientific journals (such as Transport Policy, Sustainable Development, Review of Urban and Regional Development Studies, Local Economy, Journal of Property Investment and Finance, European Transport Research Review, etc.), in books, in collective scientific volumes and conference proceedings, on topics related to Regional and Local Economic Development, Regional Planning, Transport Policy, Tourism Development, Business Location, SMEs and Local Entrepreneurship, Innovation Policy and Sustainable Development.
His work has received a significant number of cross-references from Greek and foreign scientists. He has collaborated with the Economic and Social Cohesion (E.SO.C.) Laboratory of the European Institute of the London School of Economics (L.S.E.) and is a scientific associate of the Research University Institute for Regional Development (I.P.A.) of Panteion University, with rich research and study work in the aforementioned subjects.
