Michalis Bekiaris has been teaching at the Department of Business Administration (DBA) of the University of the Aegean since 2003-04. His research interests are in accounting in the private and public sector, internal control, corporate governance and finance. He has served the Department of Business Administration (DBA) and the University of the Aegean in various positions of responsibility, such as member of the Senate, Chair of the Department, Director of the Master’s Program, member of the seven-member special body of ELKE, Vice-President of the Finance Committee, etc. Additionally, he has taught in many postgraduate programs such as the University of Piraeus, the Hellenic Open University, the University of West Attica, the University of Macedonia, the International University of Greece, etc. He has also worked for seven years in a private bank in financing and control while he has also been a member of the Board of the Intellectual Property Organization.
